BASIC INFORMATION TRAINING FOR NEW MEMBERS

 

 

Here is a list of some of the first things you have to do during your probation in the Cuba Fire Department:

 

(Note:All training is free for members, colored linked underlined courses are available to take online, you may have to register with the National Fire Academy)

 

 

 

1. obtain BLS CPR/First-Aid certs. (see the training commander or postings for classes)

 

2. obtain E Class Drivers license for driving department vehicles. (see the training commander or postings for classes)

 

3. Begin online training and obtain ICS-100 , ICS-200

 

4. Enroll in wildland firefighter class, obtain S-130, S-190, L-180

 

5. Begin online training and obtain ICS-700, ICS-300, ICS-400

 

6. Enroll in Firefighter I and/or EMS class

 

7. Enroll in Firefighter II after completing FF I pre-req

EMS LEVELS

 

EMT-FR: First Responder

EMT-B: Emergency Medical Technician Basic level

EMT-I: Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate level

EMT-P: Paramedic

 

 

 

 

 

CUBA FIRE DEPARTMENT RANKS

 

Here is the rank/command structure in our department, start to learn it so you know how it works, keep in mind any and all these ranks can be EMT's there is no ranking system for the EMT just levels.

 

Example: if a person is a firefighter and EMT Basic, The rank would read like this: Firefighter/EMT-B

 

Firefighter (No Insignia)

Driver/Operator (No Insignia)

 

 

Lieutenant  - 1 Bugle

 

 

 

Captain - 2 Bugles

 

 

 

Battalion Chief  - 3 Crossing Bugles

 

 

 

Deputy Chief/1st Asst. Chief/2nd Asst. Chief  - 4 Crossing Bugles

 

 

 

Chief  - 5 Crossing Bugles
